Dr. Casey received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he also completed his residency in Ophthalmology. He then completed a fellowship in Vitreoretinal Disease at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Casey currently serves as the president of the Wake County Medical Society, chairman of ophthalmology at Rex Hospital and was appointed by the Governor to the Commission for the Blind. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, American Society of Retina Specialists, and the North Carolina Medical Society.

Dr. Casey and his wife have 3 children and a Labrador retriever. They enjoy golf, soccer, tennis, skiing, traveling and going to the beach
